A few more things

Added some photos to my OEF gallery ; four shots of the skyline at Bagram just before dusk. Usually the dust and haze is too thick by midmorning to really get much of a view, but yesterday it was gorgeous.

Also, I got mail on my birthday. First up was a VERY welcome package of homemade gingersnaps (my favorite) from my mother-in-law. I am going to try very hard to share these. Sharing anything with ginger in it is not one of my strengths.

The other item that arrived, several weeks early, was this:

On the far left is a waving American flag. On the right, the seal of the Army. The text, which you probably cannot read, consists of the following:

PFC RAY J. HUTCHINSON TX ARMY
IRAQI FREEDOM 07 DEC 03 KIA

I never met Ray Joseph Hutchinson in person; I know him only through his older brother and a few postings he made on a web bulletin board. He was killed by an IED about three weeks before I left for Basic.

If you'd like--and I recommend this--you can read what his brother had to say about him. It will quickly become apparent to you that he was somebody worth knowing.

Thanks for the link on the bracelet!

This needs a lot more publicity!
